Bold Rock cider is made primarily from local apples sourced from nearby orchards. One of the key aspects of our cider-making process is that we press the apples to extract the juice right on site at our Cidery locations in Virginia and North Carolina. This allows us to have complete control over the quality and freshness of the apples we use.
When it comes to the types of apples we use, we select a variety of different apple cultivars to create a unique blend of flavors. These apples are grown in the surrounding areas, taking advantage of the rich agricultural heritage of Virginia and North Carolina. By using local apples, we not only support local farmers but also ensure that our cider embodies the true essence of the region.
Once the apples are picked, they are brought to our Cidery and undergo a thorough cleaning and sorting process. This ensures that only the best apples are used in our cider production. The apples are then crushed and pressed to extract the juice, which is the foundation of our cider.

During this time, any sediment or impurities settle at the bottom of the tanks, ensuring a clear and crisp final product.
