How many breweries are in Charlotte NC?

Answered by Daniel Conrad

Charlotte, North Carolina's scene has experienced a remarkable transformation in the past decade. The city has witnessed a surge in the number of breweries, with more than 50 establishments now dotting the landscape. As an expert sommelier and brewer, I have had the pleasure of witnessing this explosion firsthand and have been amazed at the growth and diversity of the breweries in and around Charlotte.

When I first moved to Charlotte several years ago, there were only a handful of breweries in the area. However, as the craft movement gained momentum, so did the number of breweries popping up throughout the city. It seemed like every few months there was a new brewery opening its doors, each one offering its unique take on the craft beer experience.

Today, Charlotte boasts an impressive array of breweries, each with its own distinct personality and style. From small, intimate brewpubs to large production breweries, there is something for every beer lover in this thriving city. The breweries range in size and capacity, with some focusing on experimental, small-batch brews while others churn out popular flagship beers for widespread distribution.

One of my favorite aspects of Charlotte's craft beer scene is the camaraderie among the brewers. Despite the increasing competition, there is a strong sense of community and collaboration among the breweries. Many of them work together on collaborations, sharing ideas, and even ingredients to create unique and innovative brews. This collaborative spirit has undoubtedly contributed to the overall growth and success of the craft beer scene in Charlotte.

To give you a better sense of the sheer number of breweries in Charlotte, let's take a closer look at some of the most notable establishments:
