Where is vintage ink wine from?

Answered by Amado Berg

Vintage Ink is from the beautiful Niagara region in Canada. This region is renowned for its stunning vineyards and picturesque landscapes, making it the perfect location for producing exceptional wines. What sets Vintage Ink apart from other winemakers is their dedication to defying conventional winemaking approaches and creating expressive and unique blends.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Niagara region last year and was absolutely blown away by the quality of wines produced there. The cool climate and mineral-rich soils create the ideal conditions for growing grapes with intense flavors and vibrant acidity. It's no wonder that winemakers in this region are able to craft such exceptional wines.

Vintage Ink takes this commitment to quality a step further by adding their own artistic touch to each bottle. The eye-catching labels on their wines are hand-drawn by Ciara Havishya, a talented tattoo artist based in Calgary. These labels not only catch your eye but also give each bottle a unique and personalized feel.

The combination of the Niagara region's terroir and Vintage Ink's unconventional winemaking practices results in wines that are truly special. I have had the pleasure of trying a few of their blends and was incredibly impressed with the depth of flavor and complexity they exhibited.

One wine that stood out to me was their red blend, which combined Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes. The wine had a beautiful deep ruby color and aromas of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it was full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long, lingering finish. It paired perfectly with a grilled steak and roasted vegetables.

Another standout wine from Vintage Ink was their white blend, which combined Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling grapes. This wine had a pale straw color with aromas of citrus fruits, tropical pineapple, and a touch of floral notes. The palate was refreshing and crisp, with vibrant acidity and flavors of green apple and grapefruit. It was an excellent pairing with a fresh seafood salad.

Vintage Ink wines are a true representation of the Niagara region's winemaking prowess and the passion and creativity of the Vintage Ink team. Their commitment to crafting expressive and unique blends, coupled with their hand-drawn labels, sets them apart in the world of winemaking. I am excited to see what they create next and highly recommend trying their wines for a truly memorable experience.
