What is the rating of DAOU pessimist?

Answered by Joseph Vos

As an expert sommelier, I have had the pleasure of tasting the Daou The Pessimist Paso Robles Red Blend, and I must say that it is an exceptional . I would rate it as a 93 out of 100.

The first thing that strikes me about this wine is its intense aromas. As soon as I bring the glass to my nose, I am greeted with a wave of blueberry, cherry, plum, and strawberry. The fruit notes are so vibrant and inviting, and they immediately draw me in.

But it's not just the fruit that captivates me. There are also undercurrents of lavender and kirsch, which add complexity and intrigue to the aroma profile. The combination of these various aromas creates a beautiful bouquet that is both enticing and alluring.

On the palate, the Daou The Pessimist is equally impressive. It has a persistent peel of acidity that adds balance and liveliness to the wine. The acidity keeps the fruit flavors in check and prevents the wine from becoming too jammy or cloying.

Speaking of the fruit flavors, they continue to shine on the palate. The blueberry, cherry, plum, and strawberry notes that I detected on the nose are all present and accounted for, and they are just as delicious as I had anticipated. Each sip is like a burst of ripe, juicy fruit that fills my mouth with flavor.

What I appreciate most about this wine is its overall balance. Despite its intense fruit flavors, it is not overly sweet or heavy. Instead, it has a medium body that is complemented by smooth tannins and a lingering finish. Everything comes together harmoniously, resulting in a wine that is both easy to drink and deeply satisfying.

I would highly recommend the Daou The Pessimist Paso Robles Red Blend. With its intense aromas, balanced acidity, and luscious fruit flavors, it is a wine that is sure to please even the most discerning palate.
