Broad Brook Brewery, located just north of Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, is owned by Eric Mance and Tom Rossing. These two individuals, who have a passion for craft beer, made the decision in 2016 to move their brewery from its original location in East Windsor to a new building across the Connecticut River.
As an expert sommelier and brewer, I have had the pleasure of visiting Broad Brook Brewery and meeting Eric and Tom. They are both incredibly dedicated and talented individuals who have created a unique and successful brewery.
Eric and Tom's journey as brewery owners began with their shared love for craft beer. They recognized the growing demand for high-quality, locally brewed beer and saw an opportunity to bring their own unique flavors to the market. With their combined expertise in brewing and business, they embarked on the exciting adventure of starting their own brewery.
I remember sitting down with Eric and Tom and hearing their stories of how they started brewing beer in their garages as a hobby. They experimented with different ingredients, techniques, and flavors, constantly honing their skills and refining their recipes. They were not content with simply brewing beer; they wanted to create exceptional brews that would stand out in the crowded craft beer market.
When they decided to open Broad Brook Brewery, they knew they needed a larger space to accommodate their growing operation. The decision to move across the Connecticut River was a strategic one, as it provided them with the opportunity to construct a new building that would not only house their brewery but also include a taproom where customers could enjoy their beers on-site.
I had the pleasure of visiting the new Broad Brook Brewery building and was impressed by the attention to detail and the thought put into the design. The taproom had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with ample seating and a bar showcasing their wide range of beers on tap. The brewing area was visible from the taproom, allowing visitors to witness the brewing process firsthand.
Eric and Tom's dedication to their craft is evident in the quality of their beers. They offer a diverse range of styles, from hop-forward IPAs to smooth and rich stouts. Each beer is crafted with care, using only the finest ingredients and traditional brewing techniques.
One of the things that struck me during my conversation with Eric and Tom was their commitment to their local community. They take pride in sourcing ingredients from local farmers and suppliers, supporting the local economy while also ensuring the freshest and highest quality ingredients for their beers.
In addition to their commitment to quality and community, Eric and Tom are also passionate about education and sharing their knowledge with others. They frequently host brewery tours and beer tasting events, where they provide insights into the brewing process and offer samples of their beers. It is evident that they not only want to create great beer but also want to educate and inspire others to appreciate the art of brewing.
