Who owns Costa tequila?

Answered by Rodney Landry

Costa is owned by our founder Stephen (Steve) Gavula III. Steve's journey with tequila began with a passion for adventure and a deep love for the spirit. In 2016, he made his first trip to Jalisco, Mexico, the birthplace of tequila.

During his visits to Jalisco, Steve immersed himself in the world of tequila, visiting agave fields and touring distilleries. It was during this time that he developed a deep relationship with Master Distiller Ingeniero Agustin Sanchez and his team. This relationship eventually led to the creation of Costa Tequila.

Steve's dedication to creating a premium tequila is evident in every aspect of Costa Tequila. From carefully selecting the finest blue agave plants to using traditional production methods, Steve is involved in every step of the tequila-making process. He strives to ensure that each bottle of Costa Tequila embodies the true essence and quality of this iconic Mexican spirit.

As an expert sommelier and brewer, Steve brings his extensive knowledge and experience to the creation of Costa Tequila. He understands the importance of using only the best ingredients and employing meticulous craftsmanship to produce a tequila that stands out from the rest.

Costa Tequila is not just a brand, but a reflection of Steve's passion for tequila and his desire to share the beauty and complexity of this spirit with others. Through his ownership of Costa Tequila, Steve continues to push the boundaries of what tequila can be, creating a product that is truly exceptional.
