Strathearn distillery is owned by Tony Reeman-Clark. I had the pleasure of meeting Tony during my visit to the distillery a couple of years ago. He is a true enthusiast and his passion for whisky is evident in every aspect of the distillery.
Tony's journey in the whisky industry started with a love for home brewing. He experimented with different grains, yeast strains, and aging techniques, constantly striving to create the perfect dram. This dedication eventually led him to establish his own distillery, Strathearn, in 2013.
What sets Strathearn distillery apart from others is its small-scale production. Unlike larger distilleries, which focus on mass production, Strathearn takes a more artisanal approach. It is a true craft distillery, with each batch of whisky being carefully handcrafted and closely monitored by Tony and his team.
During my visit, Tony took me on a tour of the distillery, showing me every step of the whisky-making process. From the milling of the barley to the fermentation and distillation, everything was done with meticulous attention to detail. Tony's knowledge and expertise were truly impressive, and I could see how much he cared about creating a high-quality product.
One of the things that struck me about Strathearn distillery is its commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. Tony believes in supporting local farmers and suppliers, and this is reflected in the whisky produced at the distillery. My experience at Strathearn distillery was truly memorable.
