Domaine Serene Winery is owned by Grace Evenstad, who is also the co-founder of the winery. Grace Evenstad and her husband, Ken Evenstad, started Domaine Serene in 1989 with the vision of producing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Their passion for wine and dedication to quality has been the driving force behind the success of Domaine Serene.
Grace Evenstad's journey into the wine industry began when she and Ken visited the Willamette Valley in the late 1980s. They fell in love with the region's potential for producing exceptional wines and decided to pursue their dream of owning a winery. They purchased their first vineyard, named “Evenstad Estate,” in the Dundee Hills AVA, and Domaine Serene was born.
Since its inception, Domaine Serene has become one of Oregon's most renowned wineries, known for its elegant and age-worthy wines. The Evenstads have expanded their vineyard holdings over the years, acquiring additional vineyards in the Yamhill-Carlton and Eola-Amity Hills AVAs. These vineyards, along with meticulous vineyard management and winemaking practices, have allowed Domaine Serene to consistently produce exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of the Willamette Valley.
Grace Evenstad has been actively involved in all aspects of the winery's operations, from vineyard management to winemaking to marketing and promotion. Under her leadership, Domaine Serene has gained international recognition and acclaim, earning numerous accolades and awards for its wines.
Grace Evenstad's commitment to excellence extends beyond Domaine Serene. She and her husband have also established the Evenstad Center for Wine Education at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. This educational institution provides resources and training for students pursuing careers in the wine industry, furthering the Evenstads' dedication to supporting and elevating Oregon wines.
