Cactus Jack is indeed a real tequila, made with the finest source of the Webber blue Agave from the town of Tequila in Jalisco, Mexico. At the distillery, the Agave plants are carefully selected and harvested by skilled jimadors, who have honed their craft over generations. The hearts of the Agave, known as piñas, are then slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens, allowing the sugars to caramelize and develop complex flavors.
Once the piñas are cooked, they are crushed to extract the sweet juice, which is then fermented using natural yeast. This fermentation process takes several days, during which the sugars are converted into alcohol, creating the base for the tequila.
After fermentation, the liquid is distilled in copper pot stills to further refine and concentrate the flavors. The distillation process is a delicate art, requiring the expertise of the master distiller to separate the different components of the liquid and achieve the desired balance.
Cactus Jack is available in three highly popular flavors, each carefully crafted to complement the smoothness and complexity of the tequila. These flavors include traditional Plata, with its crisp and clean taste, Gold, which adds a touch of sweetness and richness, and Reposado, aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two months to enhance the flavor profile with hints of vanilla and caramel.
In addition to these flavored options, Cactus Jack has recently introduced a new edition of Reposado Tequila. This expression is aged for a longer period, typically around six months, to further develop the flavors and create a smooth and sophisticated tequila experience.
