Who owns Flying Monkeys brewery?

Answered by Dustin Gorski

Flying Monkeys brewery is owned by Peter Chiodo, along with his wife Andrea and sister Patty Gardner. The brewery was originally opened in 2004 as the Robert Simpson Brewery, named after Barrie's first mayor and brewmaster. However, in 2008, Peter Chiodo decided to rebrand the brewery and officially launched it as Flying Monkeys.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Flying Monkeys brewery and experiencing their unique brews firsthand. From the moment you step into their taproom, you can sense the passion and creativity that goes into their beers. The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, with a sense of adventure and innovation in the air.

Peter Chiodo, the mastermind behind Flying Monkeys, is a true pioneer in the industry. He is known for pushing boundaries and creating beers that are not only delicious but also thought-provoking. I have had the opportunity to try several of their beers, and each one has been a work of art in its own right.

What sets Flying Monkeys apart from other breweries is their commitment to creating unique and memorable names. As Peter Chiodo once said, “Our beer names are hard to forget, but not easy to remember.” This statement perfectly captures the essence of Flying Monkeys' branding. Each beer has a name that is catchy and attention-grabbing, but also reflects the personality and character of the beer itself.

One of my personal favorites from Flying Monkeys is their “Smashbomb Atomic .” This beer is a hop lover's dream, with explosive flavors and aromas that truly pack a punch. The name perfectly captures the intensity and boldness of the beer, and it is a testament to the creativity and imagination of the brewery.

Another standout beer from Flying Monkeys is their “Chocolate Manifesto Triple Chocolate Milk .” This beer is a decadent treat, with rich chocolate flavors that are balanced perfectly with the sweetness of the milk stout base. The name “Chocolate Manifesto” immediately evokes images of indulgence and luxury, and it is a beer that lives up to its name in every sip.

In addition to their innovative beer names, Flying Monkeys also takes pride in their artwork and packaging. Each beer label is a work of art in itself, with vibrant colors and intricate designs that capture the essence of the beer. The attention to detail and creativity in their branding is truly remarkable.

Flying Monkeys brewery is a testament to the passion and dedication of its owners, Peter Chiodo, Andrea Chiodo, and Patty Gardner. Their commitment to creating unique and memorable beers is evident in every aspect of the brewery, from their beer names to their artwork. It is no wonder that Flying Monkeys has become a beloved and iconic brewery in the craft beer industry.
