Who is the Owner of American Whiskey NYC?

Robbie York, a 2005 graduate of the Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, is the proud owner of American Whiskey NYC. This venue, which serves as the official UGA venue in New York City and “home” of the NYC alumni chapter's game-watching parties, has become a beloved spot for UGA alumni and fans alike. Robbie has been running American Whiskey since 2017 and has created a unique atmosphere that celebrates all things UGA in the heart of New York City.

Yes, there is such a thng as American whiskey. Generally, American whiskey is distilled from a fermented mash of cereal grain, such as corn (maize). To be classified as an American whiskey, the spirit must have the taste, aroma, and other characteristics commonly attributed to whiskey.

The United States federal regulations identify several different types of American whiskey including bourbon whiskey which must be made from a mash that consists of at least 51% corn (maize). Other recognized types of American whiskey include corn whiskey, rye whiskey, wheat whiskey, whiskey and Whiskey.

American whiskeys are highly regulated in the United States and each type must comply with certain standards to be labeled as an American Whiskey. For instance, bourbon must be distilled to no more than 80% alcohol by volume (ABV) and then aged for at least two years in new charred oak .
