Beer, on the other hand, is believed to have been produced around 5000 years ago. The oldest evidence of beer production comes from ancient Sumeria, located in present-day Iraq. Sumerians had a well-established beer industry and even had a goddess of beer, Ninkasi, as mentioned earlier. They had techniques for brewing, fermenting, and storing beer, and beer was an integral part of their daily life.
