Insignia is made in the beautiful region of Napa Valley, California. Napa Valley is renowned worldwide for its exceptional wines, and Insignia has firmly established itself as a premier producer within this prestigious region. As a sommelier and brewer, I have had the pleasure of visiting Napa Valley and experiencing firsthand the incredible winemaking that takes place there.

Napa Valley is located in Northern California, just north of San Francisco. The region is characterized by its Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. This climate, combined with the unique terroir of the area, creates the perfect conditions for growing high-quality grapes.

Insignia is known as California's first proprietary red Bordeaux-style blend. This means that it is crafted using a combination of traditional Bordeaux grape varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. These grapes are carefully selected and blended together to create a wine that is complex, balanced, and elegant.

The winemaking process for Insignia begins in the vineyards, where the grapes are carefully tended to and harvested at their optimal ripeness. Once the grapes are harvested, they are taken to the winery where they undergo a meticulous process of sorting, crushing, and fermenting. The winemakers at Insignia pay close attention to every detail, ensuring that only the highest quality grapes are used and that the wine is crafted with precision and care.

After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak , which adds depth and complexity to the final product. The length of aging can vary, but Insignia is typically aged for around two years before it is ready to be released. During this time, the wine develops its unique character and flavors, resulting in a wine that is rich, velvety, and full-bodied.

One of the things that sets Insignia apart is its commitment to excellence. The winemakers at Insignia strive to create a wine that truly showcases the best of Napa Valley. They believe in the importance of expressing the unique character of the vineyards and the grapes, while also incorporating their own artistic vision and expertise.

Insignia has received numerous accolades and awards over the years, solidifying its reputation as one of the top wines in Napa Valley. It has become a symbol of quality and craftsmanship, and it continues to be highly sought after by wine enthusiasts around the world.

As a sommelier, I have had the pleasure of tasting Insignia on several occasions. Each time, I have been impressed by its depth, complexity, and elegance. The wine truly embodies the essence of Napa Valley and showcases the incredible winemaking talent that exists in this region.
