Where is Kuleana rum made?

Answered by Robert Golston

Kuleana is made in Kohala, Hawai'i, on our own farm. This farm is where we grow our own Hawaiian heirloom sugarcane, known as kō. The sugarcane is carefully cultivated and harvested by hand, ensuring that only the best quality cane is used in the production of our rum. This dedication to quality and attention to detail is what sets Kuleana rum apart from others.

When you visit our farm in Kohala, you can see firsthand the lush green fields of sugarcane swaying in the breeze. It is a sight to behold, and it is a testament to our commitment to sustainable agriculture. We believe in preserving the land and honoring the traditions of Hawai'i, and that is why we have chosen to grow our sugarcane on our own farm.

The process of making Kuleana rum starts with the sugarcane . After the sugarcane is harvested, it is pressed to extract the sweet juice. This juice is then fermented and distilled to create our exquisite rum. The entire process takes place on our farm, ensuring that we have complete control over every step of the production.

One of the unique aspects of Kuleana rum is that it is made from fresh sugarcane juice, rather than molasses. This gives our rum a distinct flavor profile that is unlike any other. The fresh juice imparts a natural sweetness and complexity to the rum, making it truly one-of-a-kind.

As a sommelier and brewer, I have had the opportunity to taste many different rums from around the world. However, none have come close to the quality and taste of Kuleana rum. The care and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle is evident from the first sip. It is truly a labor of love, and it shows in the final product.

Kuleana rum is made on our farm in Kohala, Hawai'i. We grow our own Hawaiian heirloom sugarcane and use the fresh juice to create our exceptional rum.
