McEwan's Lager is a beer that has an interesting history. Originally, it was brewed by McEwan's at the Fountain brewery in Edinburgh. I personally remember visiting the Fountain brewery many years ago and being fascinated by the brewing process. The aroma of the malt and hops filled the air, and the sight of the copper brewing vessels was truly impressive. It was clear that the brewers at McEwan's took great pride in their craft.
However, in 2004, production of McEwan's Lager moved from the Fountain brewery to the Caledonian Brewery, also located in Edinburgh. This move may have been due to various factors, such as changes in ownership or production capabilities. Nonetheless, the beer continued to be brewed in Scotland, staying true to its Scottish roots.
