Who owns Boojum Brewing?

Answered by Kyle Floyd

Boojum is owned by the Baker family, consisting of Ben Baker, his sister Kelsie, and their parents Corrine and Woody. Together, they run this small business, which is actually quite a big operation.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Bakers during a visit to the brewery, and they shared with me their story of how Boojum Brewing came to be. It all started with Woody's passion for brewing . He had been homebrewing for years, experimenting with different flavors and styles, and his creations were always a hit among family and friends.

One day, Ben and Kelsie suggested that their father's hobby could turn into something more – a business. They saw the potential in Woody's brewing skills and the growing industry. And so, the idea of Boojum Brewing was born.

The family decided to take the leap and open their own brewery. They found a location in Waynesville, North Carolina, nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. It was the perfect spot to showcase their beers and create a welcoming space for locals and tourists alike.

I was impressed by the size of the operation at Boojum Brewing. They have a spacious production facility where all the brewing magic happens. The aroma of and fills the air as you walk through the doors, and you can see the gleaming stainless steel tanks that hold the liquid gold.

But Boojum Brewing is more than just a production facility. They have also created a warm and inviting taproom where visitors can sample their beers. The taproom is decorated with rustic charm, with wooden tables and stools, and a cozy fireplace for those chilly mountain evenings.

During my visit, I had the opportunity to try some of Boojum Brewing's beers, and they were outstanding. From the hop-forward IPAs to the smooth and malty stouts, each beer had its own unique character and flavor profile. It was evident that the Bakers put a lot of love and care into their craft.

In addition to brewing delicious beer, the Bakers are also committed to sustainability. They use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and have implemented energy-saving measures in their production process. It's inspiring to see a small business like Boojum Brewing prioritize environmental stewardship.

As I chatted with Ben and Kelsie, it was clear that their passion for beer and their family business was infectious. They spoke with pride about their beers, their community, and their plans for the future. They are constantly experimenting with new recipes and pushing the boundaries of what craft beer can be.

So, to answer the question, Boojum Brewing is owned by the Baker family – Ben, Kelsie, Corrine, and Woody. They have built a thriving business that combines their love for brewing with a commitment to quality, sustainability, and community. It's truly a family affair, and their dedication shines through in every pint of Boojum beer.
