Rachael Martin is the proud owner and winemaker of Red Lily Vineyards. I have had the pleasure of knowing Rachael personally and can attest to her passion and dedication to the winery. She is not only a skilled winemaker but also a sommelier and brewer, making her knowledge and expertise in the industry truly extensive.
Rachael's journey in the wine industry started when she discovered her love for wine while working as a server at a restaurant. This sparked her curiosity and desire to learn more about the art of winemaking. She decided to pursue her passion and enrolled in a winemaking program, where she honed her skills and knowledge.
After gaining valuable experience working at various wineries, Rachael decided to take the leap and start her own winery. In 2001, she and her husband co-founded Red Lily Vineyards in the beautiful Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. The winery is named after the rare red flowered lilies that grow along the Applegate River, adding a touch of beauty and uniqueness to the vineyard.
Rachael's vision for Red Lily Vineyards was to create wines that showcase the unique character of the Applegate Valley terroir. She believes in sustainable farming practices and the use of indigenous yeast to bring out the true expression of the grapes.
