For example, whiskey is often aged in charred oak barrels, which impart distinct flavors of vanilla, caramel, and oak.
Once the spirit has aged to the desired level, it is then typically filtered, blended, and possibly diluted with water to achieve the desired alcohol content. This process ensures consistency in flavor and quality across batches.
