Double Maturation, or “Finishing,” is a unique process that sets Angel's Envy bourbon apart from other whiskies. In this final stage of production, our bourbon is aged for up to six additional months in 60-gallon Port barrels imported from Portugal. This additional maturation period allows the bourbon to further develop and acquire new flavors and characteristics from the Port barrels.
The use of Port barrels for finishing adds a distinct and complex flavor profile to Angel's Envy. The Port barrels impart rich notes of dark fruit, caramel, and spice, which complement the already smooth and flavorful bourbon base.
