For us, it was important to honor the heritage and expertise of tequila production, so we partnered with a small, family-owned distillery in Jalisco, the birthplace of tequila. This region is renowned for its ideal climate and volcanic soil, which contribute to the cultivation of the blue agave plant, the key ingredient in tequila.
Our journey to finding the perfect distillery was an adventure in itself. We traveled to different regions of Mexico, visiting distilleries, meeting with distillers, and tasting various tequilas. We wanted to find a partner that shared our commitment to quality and sustainability.
After visiting numerous distilleries and conducting tastings, we finally found the perfect match. Our partner distillery in Jalisco has been producing tequila for generations, and their passion for their craft is evident in every bottle. They use traditional methods and techniques, combined with modern technology, to produce tequila of exceptional quality.
The distillery is nestled in the heart of the agave fields, allowing for a direct and sustainable supply chain. The blue agave plants are hand-selected, harvested, and cooked in traditional brick ovens. The cooked agave is then crushed, and the juice is extracted for fermentation.
The fermentation process takes place in stainless steel tanks, where yeast is added to convert the sugars into alcohol. After fermentation, the tequila is double-distilled in copper stills, which helps to refine and purify the spirit.
Once the tequila is distilled, it is then blended with sparkling water and natural flavors to create Viva Tequila Seltzer. The flavors are carefully selected to complement and enhance the unique characteristics of the tequila, providing a refreshing and balanced drinking experience.
