Who owns Guam brewery?

Answered by Bill Hernandez

The Guam Brewery is owned by Jay Merrill and his business partners. As a sommelier and brewer, I have had the pleasure of meeting Jay and learning about his journey in the craft industry. He is a passionate and dedicated individual who has poured his heart and soul into making the Guam Brewery a reality.

Jay Merrill, along with his partners, saw a need for a local production brewery on Guam. They wanted to create a space where beer enthusiasts could come together and enjoy high-quality, locally brewed beer. After months of planning and hard work, the Guam Brewery finally opened its doors in Harmon on October 1, 2019.

I had the privilege of attending the grand opening of the Guam Brewery and witnessing Jay's excitement and pride as he cut the ribbon. It was a momentous occasion for him and his team, as they had put in countless hours of labor to bring their vision to life.

During the opening ceremony, Jay raised a glass and offered a toast to celebrate this milestone. As I sipped on the first suds produced by the Guam Brewery, I could taste the passion and craftsmanship that went into every drop. The beer was flavorful, well-balanced, and a testament to Jay's expertise as a brewer.

In my conversations with Jay, he has shared his personal experiences and challenges of starting a craft brewery on Guam. He spoke about the importance of sourcing local ingredients and supporting the island's economy. Jay and his team have made a conscious effort to work with local farmers and suppliers to create unique and distinct flavors in their beers.

One of the things that impressed me the most about Jay and his partners is their commitment to sustainability. They have implemented eco-friendly practices in their process, such as recycling and using energy-efficient equipment. This dedication to the environment is not only admirable but also sets a positive example for other breweries in the region.

Jay Merrill is one of the owners of the Guam Brewery. His passion for craft beer, attention to detail, and commitment to sustainability have made the brewery a success. It is inspiring to see individuals like Jay making their mark in the industry and contributing to the local economy. The Guam Brewery is a testament to his vision and hard work, and I have no doubt that it will continue to thrive in the years to come.
