Is mead stronger than beer?

Mead, one of the oldest liquors in the world, is known for its strength compared to beer. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) ranging from 5-20%, mead typically packs a more powerful punch than beer. This higher alcohol content is due to the fermentation process of mead, which involves the conversion of honey into alcohol by yeast.
